Lucas Pee's on the Potty!!!

Well it is official. Lucas peed on the potty tonight. We always knew he was a genius, but peeing on the potty at 17 months!!! Yahoo!!! He has been sitting on the potty every night (when we are home) before his bath and tonight the magic happened! Way to go Lucas!!!
p.s. We are fully aware that this had to do with timing and nothing to do with intent.....but needed to brag a little bit right??? Too cute. I think I need to start the grieving process...he really is becomming a big boy. Today I asked him to come and help me and he looked at me and said "no no ma ma" and continued to play. It made me laugh for a few minutes :)

Christmas 2008

Lucky for us we got to spend Christmas in Minnesota (Chris did not think it was that lucky when he woke up to -22 degree weather however)!! We flew into Minneapolis on Saturday December 20th and were able to spend the day with some of my family members. We headed up to Moorhead on Sunday 12/21, about a 3.5 hour drive in good weather. Sunday was spent visiting with Chris' parents Jerry and Sue and Chris' sister Melinda and her husband Joe who flew in from Salt Lake City.

On Monday we made the trip to Ulen Minnesota to see Grandma and Grandpa Rogers (Lucas' great grandparents). It was great to see them and spend some time together. Grandma made all of her grandchildren a set of hand towels which was so thoughtful of her (we each got 7 and she has 9 grandchildren-she started last January)!! They gave Lucas a beach towel with his name on it and he played with it all week!!
On Tuesday Chris' aunt Judi, uncle David and their families came over to make some gingerbread cookies. Lucas was not really sure what to do with the cookies, but he loved to eat the toppings!

On Christmas Eve we went to church in the afternoon and then had dinner at Sue and Jerry's house. We were able to spend some time with Chris' grandma Johnson too which was so nice, as she liked to tell us over and again what a cutie Lucas was! We will never get tired of hearing that ;) As you can imagine Lucas was very spoiled and loved opening his presents!! Thanks Rogers/Whethams!

Christmas morning found us driving back to the cities to celebrate Christmas with my family. We decided to have a Christmas fiesta this year and had loads of yummy Mexican food! We had a good time opening gifts, playing Wii and watching the kids play with their gifts. Thanks Everyone, Lucas was so spoiled!!!

On Friday in typical Brechon fashion my mom and I had to get up early and head out to the mall to do some after Christmas shopping! We met my sister Janelle and niece Alisha for a bit at Macy's. It was wonderful :) That evening we had dinner at my sister Annette's house. On Saturday we headed to Luck Wisconsin to celebrate with the Brechon side of the family. It was so nice to catch up on everyone lives. We were able to hear about wedding plans, new homes and pregnancies!!!!!! Yahoo!!!
Sunday was spent seeing our friend Shannon in her new home in Vadnais Heights, then off to see our friends the Chelmo's in Bloomington (we wish we were closer to have more play dates with Sully and Liam)! The afternoon was spent with my nieces and then dinner at mom's while Chris and my nephew went to meet a few friends and then to the Gopher game! Monday morning we were able to see my friend Tisa and her 3 month old son Maksim, whom we have never met, and who is absolutely adorable.
Whew....no wonder we are exhausted when we get home huh??.... We landed in Dayton at 6pm pm on Monday night and were ready for the hour long drive home however the car battery was dead in the parking lot...lame....Needless to say we were ready for a nights sleep, and glad to be home!
Thanks to everyone who spoiled Chris,Lucas and Myself!! We..well.... I... miss home already :) We hope everyone had a great Christmas and has a Happy New Year!!

Christmas at the Rogers :)

We have Christmas early at our house as we are home in Minnesota on Christmas every year. We feel that it is important to have our own family traditions so we decided to have our own Christmas celebration before we go home to celebrate with the rest of our family. True to form as a little boy Lucas loved all of his toys and didn't really care much about his clothes. Unfortunately I was not feeling very well today so Chris was super dad and took care of Lucas for most of the day so I could veg out on the couch in hopes to feel better. We all had fun playing with Lucas and his new toys. Here are a few pictures of our Christmas.

Lucas took all of his blocks out of his new wagon and decided it was a good place to sit to play with his other new toy!

Lucas picks up his phone and says "Hello"-it is pretty cute.

Lucas needed a little help from dad getting his stocking emptied.

Lucas loves to help mom clean so he got his own vacuum.

Just Lucas being silly

1st snowfall and Christmas Tree

There are not many things I like about living outside of Minnesota however having the first snowfall on the second weekend in December is definitely one of them. Lucas and I did enjoy it while it lasted-it is already melted thanks to the 50 degree weather today.

He was pretty funny to watch as he tried to get used to walking with his boots and snowpants!! His favorite part was the wagon ride!!

We also got our Christmas tree up and decorated. Lucas was a great help and can now point out all the Santa's and will say his version of "Ho Ho Ho" which sounds like a cross between "Uh oh" and "ho ho ho". The first thing that he wants to do when we walk in the door is turn on the lights!
Yes he will probably look back and ask his mother what in the world she was thinking putting him in this shirt :)
