Well our Christmas celebrations started on December 19th with the second annual Rogers family Christmas at our home in Columbus. We decided that we would start our own traditions as we go home for every Christmas and therefor can't have our family Christmas on Christmas Day. So on December 19th Santa comes to our house. It was so fun to have Lucas understand Santa Clause and presents. He was very spoiled and we learned a few lessons:
1. Wrap all clothing together as Lucas is not like his mother with loving lots and lots of packages
2. Do not let him open the "fun" Santa gifts until closer to the end of gift opening as then he will lose all interest in any other present opening
3. Unwrapping, then playing, unwrapping, then playing......allow hours for this Christmas morning
4. All presents that need assembly or batteries need to be assembled and batteries placed prior to wrapping... anxious 2 1/2 year old have a hard time waiting to get his hands on his awesome presents.
5. Love every minute of it!!
Here are a few pictures of our Christmas.
On December 20th we flew to Minneapolis and hung out with my family for a few days prior to heading to Moorhead for Christmas number 2. We were able to see two very pregnant bellies (Niece Melissa and friend Tisa) and lots of friends and family. We bundled up and also saw the Hollidazzle one night. On December 22nd we drove to Moorhead MN for the start of Christmas number 2.

Lucas really liked the parade almost as much as he liked this cool toy grandma got him!
Christmas Number 2
Our time in Moorhead started off at great Grandma Elnor's for "tea and cookies". Lucas was loving showing off for the little old ladies in the dining room for coffee. Great Grandma Elnor enjoyed watching Lucas as he was playing with her nativity set and Christmas tree. While in Moorhead we also made the trip to see Lucas' Great grandparents on the Rogers side. It is always such a treat for us to spend time with Lucas great grandparents and they so much enjoy seeing Lucas! On these visits we were able to visit with Chris' aunt and uncles Judi and David and Jeanne and Barry. Chris, Lucas and I were very spoiled and got lots of fun things for Christmas. We were proud to give both Chris' parents and my parents a video of Lucas that my brother in law Dave and Niece Alisha made which was a tribute to Lucas' first two and a half years. Dave and Alisha spent lots of hours on this video and we were delighted with the results.

Lucas even got to flirt and show off for Great Grandma Elnor
Grandpa Jerry got a new face mask for running outside-Lucas thought this was a funny picture of Grandpa.
Moorhead decided to be hit with a snow storm on Christmas Eve which made us think that we would not make the drive back to Minneapolis for the Brechon family Christmas. With the help of the Internet weather service, mother nature and Jerry shoveling us out of the driveway we made it to Minneapolis!!
Christmas Number 3
Christmas Day night all of the Brechons gathered to Celebrate Christmas. We had a great time and continue to enjoy our initial game. This year my father had me and got me a summer sausage in a Christmas can--my initials were HIS...can you figure out his logic??? HIS stood for Home in Spring as the thing I want most in the world (to see my new great nephew!!) my dad thought it stood for Here is Sausage. My mom felt so bad that my dad was having lame humor that she bought me a new NorthFace Coat to make up for dad :) I totally scored on that deal! Thanks dad and mom!
Here are a few of our annual family shots- I did not get good shots of all family sets sorry!!Melissa (with soon to be born great nephew), Jared and Jerame

I think this was Suzi's favorite gift!
After Christmas we did some shopping and spending more time with the family. It is always hard to come home after fun trips like that. Luckily for us my mother in law Sue flew home with us and helped watch Lucas as his day care was closed this week. My coworkers were asking to buy her one day at lunch as I was saying how great she was. Nothing like coming home to a clean house and warm dinner every night this week! Yahoo for us! Thanks Sue- or should I say "Yeah Grandma" as Lucas would say!! We hope everyone had a great and safe holiday!! Happy New Year.
